As promised a while back here is a little screencapture of my texture painting process. In sumary: Keep it low contrast and low saturation (especially for floor textures as you don’t want them to draw focus too much), change brush size often, sample colors off a reference and the canvas itself, break up straight lines and boring surfaces with squiggles. Try not to purposely paint details too much, rather go with the flow and pick up on whats there… and have fun! :)
